Unlock 17 A

this week i tried to be iron man.

build mode. finish one thing, unlock the next. more work, more systems, more armour. i love it. i am good at it.

but i was also tired in a way i did not tell anyone. you can be proud of the machine you are building and lonely inside it at the same time. both were true for me this week.

so today i stopped. first real break in a long time. no plan. i called old friends. we just talked. one of them was laughing about his street being under water. the rain has not stopped where she is.

that call is where the week made sense.

not the building. the break.

a friend asked how i have changed this year. i said a thing i had never said out loud.

for a long time i could not let people see me struggle. i was the founder. the one who is supposed to have it together. you do not show the cracks to people who look up to you.

so i kept the armour on.

it was quiet in there. safe, and a little lonely.

the friends who stayed close are the ones i finally let in. the unsure me. the messy me.

same thing with my new batch this week, the new students i am helping settle in.

first day, the room was full of strangers and silence. the plan said start the session, run the structure.

instead we threw the plan out and mixed the groups again and again, until the wrong people ended up sitting together.

that is when the room finally started to talk.

a vendor i used to work with called too. he runs a small hardware business. he wants to build his company the way i build mine. open. honest. still figuring it out.

his words: “let us grow together.”

i wrote a line in my notes this week, before i understood it:

a perfect plan kills the surprise.

not the planning. the surprise.

plan all you want. then be ready to drop it the moment real life hands you something better.

where did you put the plan down this week, and something real showed up?

be kind, help people, trust muruga.
